About · Chorley
Your Chorley driving instructor, in the passenger seat.
Chorley Driving Lessons is a small, independent driving school run by one fully qualified instructor. I've been teaching people to drive for ten years, and I still enjoy it as much as I did at the start.
every lesson
A local instructor, not a franchise
I set up Chorley Driving Lessons to teach driving the way I think it should be taught: calmly, patiently and with plenty of encouragement. I'm independent, so I'm not part of a national chain. When you send a message to book, it comes straight to me, and I'm the one sitting beside you on every lesson right through to test day.
That matters more than people expect. Learning to drive goes much better when you know the person next to you, and they know how you learn. You won't be passed between instructors or have to explain yourself all over again.
How I teach
My lessons are friendly and relaxed. I'd much rather you felt comfortable asking questions than worried about getting something wrong. We build up one skill at a time, starting on quieter roads and moving on to busier junctions, roundabouts and dual carriageways when you're ready.
Nervous learners are always welcome. If you're anxious, tell me, and we'll take things at a pace that feels right for you.
Plenty of people come to me feeling unsure. Some have had a bad experience before, some haven't driven in years, and some are simply nervous about traffic. Whatever the reason, there's no rush and no judgement.
Lessons that fit around your life
Most of my learners are working, studying or looking after a family, so I offer evening and weekend appointments as well as daytime ones. Let me know when you're free and we'll find a regular slot that works.
What I offer
Alongside weekly lessons for beginners, I run crash courses for people who want to learn faster, plus refresher lessons, motorway lessons, test preparation and Pass Plus. Lessons are £43 an hour, or £410 for a block of ten hours paid up front.

About learning with me
Anything else you'd like to know? Send me a message and I'll answer it.
Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?
Yes. I run the business on my own, so I teach every lesson myself, from your first time behind the wheel through to test day.
I'm really nervous about driving. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Nervous learners are very welcome. Let me know how you're feeling before we start, and we'll go at a pace that suits you, starting on quieter roads and building up slowly.
Can I have lessons in the evening or at the weekend?
Yes, I offer evening and weekend appointments. Send me the days and times that suit you and we'll find a regular slot.
How much do lessons cost?
Lessons are £43 an hour. You can also buy a block of 10 hours up front for £410, which works out at £41 an hour.
How do I book?
Just send me a message with a bit about you, any driving you've done before and when you're free. I'll get back to you to arrange your first lesson.
Are you part of a big driving school?
No, I'm a local, independent instructor. You deal with me directly from your first message, rather than a call centre or head office.
Let's get you on the road.
Tell me a little about you and when you're free, and I'll find a time for your first lesson in Chorley.
